The Pampered Chef Company was founded in 1980 by former home economics teacher Doris Christopher, to sell high quality kitchen tools through cooking demonstrations. The company was purchased in 2002 by Berkshire Hathaway and is now operating in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany and Mexico.

Pampered Chef is employing more than 750 corporate staff and is selling it products in the direct sales model through 60,000 Independent Pampered Chef Consultants worldwide. In addition to kitchen tools, the company is also marketing a variety of products for serving food and entertaining, and is developing and testing hundreds of recipes each year.

As an Independent Pampered Chef Consultant, you are marketing the products at Cooking Shows, which are basically home cooking demonstrations. You are receiving commissions on sales made at these shows with a rate ranging from 20% to 25%, increasing with monthly sales volume.

When you recruit others, you earn commissions on the sales volume of your group, and your commission rate increases up to 31%. There are eight consultant career levels, from Consultant to national Executive Director. 

To sign up as a Consultant, you need to purchase a starter kit, either the Mini Kit at $65 or the New Consultant Kit at $155.
