quarter of 2009, with two-digit growth in Asia, Europe and Latin
America.
Nu Skin Products
The
company is marketing the Nu Skin anti-aging and skin care products, and
plus Pharmanex line of nutritional supplements.
The Nu Skin products include skin and face care products plus the Galvanic
Spa treatment. The Galvanic Spa instruments are using self-adjusting
galvanic currents with specially formulated products to enhance the
delivery of key components to the skin of face, scalp and body. Prices
are $300 for the system, and range from $33 to $63 for products.
The
Pharmanex product line includes general and targeted nutritional
supplements and weight management products. Prices range from $890 for
the top of the line Lifepac Nano product to $21 for the Life Essentials
multivitamin and mineral supplement.
It is clear
that these products are targeting consumers with high quality
standards, strong health preferences and corresponding purchasing
power. Expect to deal with highly educated customers.
Nu Skin Marketing and Compensation Plan
Nu Skin is marketing its products through independent distributors. To become a distributor you need to purchase a business portfolio for $25. Product purchases are optional.
You are earning
- Up to 30% on retail sales
- 5% commissions on sales made by directly sponsored distributors
- Fast Start payments on Fast Start product packages.
To qualify for commissions and bonuses, you need to be "active," meaning that you need to obtain 100 personal sales volume (PSV) points from retail and personal consumption and you need to make 5 retail sales per month.
Executive Commissions
With
sufficient sales volume in your group (above 2000 in the third month),
you qualify as an Executive, and earn an additional Executive Bonus on
your total group sale volume (GSV). The bonus increases with volume and
ranges form 9% to 15%. Your group volume is calculated from all
customers and distributors in your group; new executives are breaking
away. The following example is showing the effect of increasing bonus
percentage
| GSV | % | Commission |
| 2,000 | 9% | $180 |
| 10,000 | 12% | $1,200 |
To maintain your Executive status, you need to maintain a minimum of 100 PSV, 2000 GSV and have a monthly auto ship order, with a recommended volume of $200 to $500. At 100 PSV for each group member, you need a group of at least 20 customers and distributors.
Breakaway Executive Commissions
With increasing number of Breakaway Executives in your organization, you rise to higher Executive ranks, and qualify for 5% commission on the GSV of your executives for increasing levels, from level 1 to 6.
The company automatically compares the total Breakaway Commission (depth) to an extra bonus of 5% and double bonus of 10% at level 1 (width), and pays you the higher amount of both. This optimizes payout for both deep and wide organizations.
There are no bonuses paid for
recruiting. All bonuses are paid only for product sales. In 2008, 40.7%
of all distributors were active, and of these, 14.1% earned a
commission check. The average monthly check for non-executive
distributors was $62, and ranged from $228 to $42,710 for executives at
all levels.
Nu Skin Training
Nu Skin training is offered by leaders at training events and online through training web sites. Nu Skin University offers online eLearning courses in product and business knowledge and an online library of product information.
Training in marketing covers
warm market methods, motivational strategies, business practices,
scripts for prospecting and closing, leading with a blend of products
and opportunity.
